Class Visits for 5 Year Olds
From January 2020, all new entrant students will start on one of these dates, once they have turned 5: We acknowledge this may be disruptive for some families, but as the school has grown and we have a large number of entrants every year, we consider this the best options for new entrants and the school. This change will not affect any students that is not a new entrant.
New Entrant 2020 start dates:
Term 1: Wednesday 29th January and Monday 2nd March
Term 2: Tuesday 28th April and Tuesday 2nd June
Term 3: Monday 20th July and Monday 24th August
Term 4: Monday 12th October and Monday 16th November
To enrol your child at Waterview School, please ensure that you bring your child’s Birth Certificate or Passport with you as well as their Immunisation Certificate. If applicable, proof of residency is also required. Please call the office prior to your visit, if you have any questions or queries about enrolment.

New Entrant Teachers:

The Year 0/1 class is called the Tui Learning Hub. Your child will have a base teacher but will be taught by all three teachers (currently two but will add one more as hub grows) throughout the year. The Tui Learning Hub is a flexible learning environment (open plan) where students will develop the foundation skills they need to be successful with their learning.
At Waterview Primary School we aim to make your child’s transition to school as seamless as
possible. Students are entitled to 3 school visits 1 month prior to their birthday. A visit includes 1 learning block and a break time. Pre-Visits are scheduled for Fridays only. Please contact Jay Jay Thompson on one month prior to your child turning 5 to arrange times for these visits.
Your Child's First Day
On your child’s first day at school please report to the office between 8.30am and 8.55am. You are welcome to stay a short time with your child as part of the settling in process. Please discuss this further with the classroom teacher on your arrival.
School Donations & Starter Packs
School Donations are $20 per term and starter packs including all the stationery you need to get started at school are $45. Please contact the school office with any further questions or queries.
