At Waterview School, we believe that regular attendance is essential for every child to learn, grow and thrive. Being at school every day helps our tamariki build strong relationships, stay connected with their learning and develop a sense of belonging within our school community.
We understand that there are times when children need to be away, particularly when they are unwell. If getting your child to school regularly is becoming difficult, please talk with us. We are here to work alongside you and your whānau to help.

Arriving on Time Matters

At Waterview Primary School, our gates open at 8:00am, giving tamariki plenty of time to ease into their school day. Children are welcome to enjoy Breakfast Club, catch up with friends, connect with staff and get themselves organised before learning begins.
Our school day starts at 9:00am. Arriving before the bell gives children time to feel settled, connected and ready to learn. When students arrive late, they can miss important routines, instructions and learning, and it can make starting the day more difficult.

A calm, on-time start helps set our tamariki up for a successful day of learning.
