Ko Annette Herbert tōku ingoa, and I feel incredibly privileged to be the Deputy Principal at Waterview Primary School.

My passion has always been about supporting tamariki to feel safe, valued, and confident in who they are. I believe every child shines in their own unique way, and I love being part of helping our learners grow not only academically, but also in confidence, kindness, and resilience.

One of the things I treasure most about Waterview Primary is the strong sense of whānau and connection that exists within our school community. The relationships we build with our tamariki and their whānau are so important, and it is a joy to work alongside such caring staff, supportive families, and wonderful children every day.

I am deeply committed to honouring te ao Māori within our kura and helping create a space where culture, identity, and belonging are celebrated and embraced. Seeing our tamariki happy, thriving, and proud of who they are is what makes this role so special to me.
